Why did I create this?
Like many of you, when I first set my fee, I based it on local averages of those with similar time and experience. Then I realized something that shook me to my core.
The numbers had not changed in 10 years.
I had looked up an old supervisor, and he was charging the same fee he as 10 years prior.
I decided that I was not gong to be obligated to undercharging by the chronic and pervasive culture of undervaluing ourselves only to perpetuate a broken system that reinforces it.
So then, I decided to do something bold.
Instead of the usual and customary, I now base my fees on my desired income and my emotional capacity to do great work, while still living a fulfilling and balanced life.
And I want the same for every one of you.
